WREATHMAKING!

On Thursday, November 21st, we gathered at the church for Wreathmaking. It was a wonderful night filled with beautiful and inspiring music and a chance to be creative.

The preparations began in the morning, with setting up tables and covering the floor with plastic to make clean-up easier. All was in readiness for the big evening!

We met in the chapel to sing some carols and listen to some inspiring music.

Mary Alice started us out by telling us some of the history of wreaths. They symbolize the eternal nature of God's love for us.

The musical program began with Mary Anne Foley playing a Bach piece on the violin, followed by Kaylie Allen playing "Silent Night" on the piano. Our last performer, Sister Wagner, one of our sister missionaries, played the violin as well. All the music was beautiful! We all enjoyed singing Christmas carols, many of us for the first time this season.

After the musical program, it was time to get started making the wreaths! There were pre-made bows ready for us to choose, and all the tables were set up with the boughs on the floor on one end and a garbage bag for discarded greens.

We started working on our wreaths. Those of us with expreience helped those who had not done it before, and pretty soon everyone was making beautiful creations!

There was festive Christmas music playing in the background,an ice cream treat at the end, good company and a sense of accomplishment as we viewed our finished products.

A special thanks to those who organized and participated in the musical program. It went very smoothly and everyone had a great time!

It was a fun evening - we hope this activity will return again next year!

Special thanks to the clean-up crew! :)
