Pumpkin Party!

On Thursday, October 22nd, we met at the Wellesley Congregational Church to pick out pumpkins. There was a LARGE selection of pumpkins to choose from which were arranged in groups on the front lawn of the church. We picked out our pumpkins and carried them (either by hand or by wheelbarrow) to our cars and headed to the church for the decorating portion of our party. It was a beautiful day and there were so many pumpkins that I took a LOT of pictures - enjoy!

When we got to the church to carve our pumpkins, we were greeted by an AMAZING Halloween display that Ginny Woodworth put together. She is an extremely talented crafter. Her creations win the grand prize for most beautifully creepy Halloween decorations. And some of them were edible - the skeleton was composed of Cheetos!

The pumpkin carving was aided by various tools, some battery powered and some time-tested favorites. Darsi Dowling introduced a new way to carve the back of the pumpkin to make the candle easier to put in - what a great idea!

The children watched "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" in the overflow of the chapel. They were engrossed.

It was a fun activity!

Many thanks to Mary Alice Hatch for organizing and Ginny Woodworth for providing the decorations. Happy Halloween!
